Behind the scene pictures of setting up the green screen

Green screen test

We have managed to get hold of a green screen to make our news room part look more realistic. Here is a test we have done with it.

Time lapse and slow motion test

In our music video, the aliens are partying and it shows their trip through London. In part of it we need to have the change time, for example it going from day time to night time so here in the video below we were looking for ways to do it.

At one point in the song, it slows down. we figured this would be an ideal place to try out the slow motion. For the time lapse we used a royalty free clip off: www.beachfrontbroll.com

News report test

At the beginning of the music video we are going to have a news report to introduce the aliens coming to earth. Below is a test of what we want it to be like.

Rating

The British Board of Film Classification (BBFC)  rating for our film will be a 15. The BBFC decide ratings for films. The things that 15 rated films can include are as follows:
  • strong violence
  • frequent strong language (eg 'f***').
  • portrayals of sexual activity
  • strong verbal references to sex
  • sexual nudity
  • brief scenes of sexual violence or verbal references to sexual violence
  • discriminatory language or behaviour
  • drug taking
Because our film is about gangsters we've felt we have had to include things such as guns, violence and bad language so people can get a real feel of how it is which is why we have this rating.

Change of script

We decided to change the script as we felt it wouldn't work with our finish version. The new script is below:-

Ever wondered how I got here?

Its been a long hard trip up

I lived a rough life

but one day a certain man changed it all

he gave me a couple of jobs

started to earn a bit of money

and make my way up in life

it was simple really

the worse the job was

the more money I made

then I got a call

a very important call

from the man at the top

this was where the real jobs were done

he quite liked me, and I became his right hand man

but then I realized the only way to get to the top is to take out the man above you

Update on music

We have got all the music we made on a MP3 recorder and saved onto a computer however they have not been uploaded as of yet, as blogger does not allow us to upload just an MP3 file. We will be using it in our rough cut after half-term.

Storyboards

Example of audience research survey

This is just one of the surveys we got from people. All the surveys were like this one. We made sure the people who filled out the surveys were all the same age and weren't all the same sex. It showed that males preferred gangster films more than females did. The older lot of people preferred gangster films set in a less recent time. It also showed that people liked violence and crime in their gangster movies.

Researching music

We have been trying to find out music to use that does not have a copy right as that is part of the brief. We have come across a variety of websites. One of the good ones we have found is http://freeplaymusic.com/.

We have also found some other websites, sadly they were not adequate because you have to pay for them and we do not have the budget. One of these websites is http://www.istockphoto.com/audio

Our other option is to make our own music as Rory plays bass guitar. We are hoping to find a sort of blues riff to go along with our film.
